Chapter 5: Underlying Emotions
As night fell like ink, it slowly enveloped the apartment shared by Jess and Val. In the living room, Jess sat on the sofa with Amy, and the atmosphere grew increasingly subtle and ambiguous.
Amy had thick, brown curls that casually draped over her rounded shoulders, with a few strands playfully curling around her fair neck.
Her eyes resembled deep lakes, shimmering captivatingly under the light, and her full lips, like ripe cherries, held an endless allure when slightly pouted.
Amy's figure was voluptuous; her fitted top accentuated her proud chest, with a hint of cleavage that silently spoke of feminine charm.
Though her waist wasn’t as slender as a willow branch, it possessed a unique softness and fullness that exuded sensuality. Her rounded hips were wrapped in a fitted skirt, swaying gently with her movements, radiating the grace of a mature woman.
Amy shifted closer to Jess, a faint floral perfume mingling with her natural scent, wrapping around Jess's senses. “Jess, how was your day?” Her voice carried a hint of laziness and playfulness, her gaze filled with tender affection.
Jess felt a stir in her heart; her gaze lingered briefly on Amy before instinctively drifting toward Val's bedroom door. “Um, it was okay. How about you?” Jess tried to keep her tone as natural as possible.
Amy's lips curled into a charming smile as she reached out, lightly resting her hand on Jess's arm, her fingers gliding softly across Jess's skin. “I’ve been thinking about you all day.” As she spoke, her face slowly inched closer to Jess's.
Jess could feel Amy's warm breath brushing against her, causing her heart to race involuntarily. Just as Amy's lips were about to touch Jess's, Jess's body stiffened slightly, but she didn’t pull away. Amy's kiss landed softly on Jess's lips, initially a mere brush, but it gradually deepened.
Jess slowly closed her eyes, yet Val's face involuntarily surfaced in her mind. She tried to push the thought away, focusing on responding to Amy's kiss. Amy's hands began to roam over Jess's body, sliding from her shoulders down her back, gently wrapping around her waist and pressing her body tightly against Jess. Jess could distinctly feel the pressure of Amy's full breasts, the soft sensation eliciting an instinctive reaction from her body.
The kiss grew increasingly heated, with Amy letting out soft gasps. Her tongue gently pried open Jess's lips, intertwining with Jess's own. Jess's hands instinctively found their way to Amy's waist, her breathing quickening.
In this moment of passion, Jess's heart was engulfed in extreme conflict and confusion. On one hand, she was swept away by Amy's enthusiasm, her body responding with instinctual impulses; on the other, her feelings for Val felt like a thorn in her heart, each touch bringing sharp pain. She felt that what she was doing was a betrayal to Val, yet she found herself powerless to escape.
Meanwhile, Val stood at her bedroom door, having pushed it open just a crack. She had intended to get a glass of water but was taken aback by the heartbreaking scene in the living room. Val's gaze locked onto Jess and Amy, her heartbeat seemingly halting, a wave of intense jealousy surging within her.
Val watched as Amy's voluptuous figure pressed against Jess, witnessing their passionate kiss. Her hands instinctively clenched, her nails digging into her palms, yet she felt no pain. It was as if something had lodged in her throat, making it hard to breathe, and a mist began to cloud her eyes.
“Why… why do I feel this way?” Val repeatedly asked herself. She had always thought her feelings for Jess were purely platonic, but seeing this scene now made her question her emotions, as jealousy and pain surged uncontrollably.
In the living room, Jess and Amy's passion continued. Jess struggled internally, wanting to stop, yet feeling an invisible force pulling her in.
Finally, Amy slowly released Jess's lips, her face flushed with satisfaction, her eyes still holding a hint of desire. “Jess, you’re amazing,” she whispered, her voice slightly hoarse.
Jess stared blankly at her, her mind a void. At that moment, she seemed to hear a faint sob. Startled, Jess’s instinct told her it was Val's voice. She quickly stood up, adjusting her disheveled clothes, and walked toward Val's room.
Pushing the door open, Jess saw Val sitting on the edge of the bed, her back turned to her, trembling slightly. Jess's heart tightened as she approached Val, gently asking, “Val, what’s wrong?”
Val didn’t answer; she didn’t want Jess to see her tear-streaked face. She struggled to suppress her sobs, but her trembling shoulders betrayed her.
Jess sat down beside Val, reaching out to comfort her, unsure of where to start. “Val, did I do something wrong? Please don’t be like this…”
Val took a deep breath, trying to make her voice sound normal. “I’m fine, just go away.” Her voice trembled with a mix of emotion and coldness.
Jess knew Val was lying, but she also understood that now wasn’t the time to press for answers. She stood up quietly and left the room, gently closing the door behind her.
Back in the living room, Amy looked at Jess with concern. “What’s wrong? Did something happen with Val?”
Jess shook her head. “I don’t know, but I think she might not be feeling well.”
Amy nodded. “Should I go check on her?”
Jess thought for a moment before replying, “No, she probably just wants to be alone for a bit.”
Jess sat on the sofa, cradling her head in her hands, engulfed in deep guilt and confusion.
She didn’t know how to face Val or how to handle her relationship with Amy. Meanwhile, Val remained in her room, alone with her jealousy and confusion about her feelings, as the three of them found themselves tangled in an unprecedented complexity that night.
