Chapter2: Alvin lay in bed
On the bed, a young man sat cross-legged. His name was Alvin, sixteen years old, with a youthful yet unique charm. His high-bridged nose and deep-set eyes gave him a mysterious aura.
At the moment, his eyes were closed, his expression focused, as if each breath resonated with the magical aura around him.
After a while, Alvin slowly opened his eyes, a hint of resignation and confusion in his gaze.
For the past fifteen years, Alvin's life had been ordinary. He lived in a typical farming village, working and laughing with his neighbors, leading a simple yet fulfilling life. However, everything changed on the night of his sixteenth birthday.
That night, as Alvin lay in bed, he suddenly felt a powerful heat surge from within, and strange lights flickered before his eyes. He almost thought he would be consumed by this mysterious force. But just as he was about to lose consciousness, he glimpsed a dazzling sea of magical runes, shooting across the night sky like meteors, eventually converging into a mysterious magic book.
The next morning, Alvin awoke from his dream to find the magic book within him. It had no name or origin, and would only appear when he closed his eyes and focused.
From then on, Alvin embarked on his journey of magic. In his spare time, he quietly studied the book, hoping to uncover the secrets of magic. However, a year passed, and he still could not feel the flow of magical elements or absorb them into his body. This sense of frustration often made him want to give up.
But whenever this happened, he would recall that strange night's experience and the dazzling sea of magical runes. He knew he could not give up. So he persisted, hoping one day to break through the bottleneck and truly set foot on the path of magic.
Shaking his head, Alvin got up and walked out of the house, greeted by a lush, verdant landscape. Chaosheng Village was nestled in the Chizhao Mountains, a picturesque haven surrounded by towering peaks and cascading waterfalls.
Seeing this beautiful scenery, Alvin's gloomy mood lifted slightly. He pushed open the gate and was immediately met by a young girl.
"Ouch!"
The petite girl in a peach-colored dress, with her swinging pigtails, had been knocked back by the collision. Alvin quickly reached out to steady her, apologizing profusely.
The girl, called Ruoer, gave him a stern look but didn't push his hand away. Her bright, sparkling eyes made Alvin's heart flutter.
Ruoer pouted, "You, Alvin, that really hurt!"
Alvin smiled apologetically and asked why she had come. Ruoer explained that Uncle Wang had sent her to inform him.
Alvin then went to the tavern, where Uncle Wang, the kind-hearted owner, asked him to gather some qingzhu herbs from Qingluan Peak for brewing wine, as his son Ertiger was ill.
Alvin readily agreed and set off for the peak. As he ventured deeper, he found the qingzhu herbs growing in abundance, with the most mature and vibrant specimens near the base of the waterfall.
Suddenly, the ground gave way beneath Alvin's feet, and he tumbled into the lake below. As he struggled to stay afloat, a powerful suction force pulled him into the depths.
Just as Alvin thought he was facing certain death, he glimpsed a distant figure in white, exuding an otherworldly presence. A gentle, authoritative voice whispered in his ear, "It's time to wake up."
Alvin jolted awake, finding himself in an ancient stone chamber. Examining his surroundings, he noticed the intricate dragon carvings on the walls and the countless luminous pearls embedded in the ceiling, illuminating the space.
Approaching the massive stone door, Alvin read the ominous inscription: "Dragon Clan Forbidden Land, Enter at Your Peril."
Feeling a powerful, oppressive aura emanating from the door, Alvin hesitated. Yet, realizing this might be his only way out, he steeled his resolve and placed his hands on the door, determined to push through.
